Meet Lillian Myers: Our Eddie Reeves Scholarship Winner
08/04/2023
During this year’s annual meeting, we had the honor of presenting this year's Eddie Reeves Community Commitment Scholarship to a student who's shown dedication to serving the community. The $5,000 scholarship remembers Mr. Reeves, a credit union volunteer and board chairman who served Family Trust for over 30 years.
This year’s recipient is Lillian Myers of Fort Mill. Lillian recently graduated from Nations Ford High School and will attend the College of Charleston this fall. She plans to pursue her bachelor’s in communications.
Her interest in volunteering began in the 6th grade, and she has been active in the Fort Mill community ever since. She believes the greatest course of action when desiring to change the environment for the better is to start small. In her case, this meant volunteering at her school. As student body president during her senior year, she coordinated a variety of community service projects. The one that touched her most was Karson’s Kompassion Project. For Lillian, this experience left her with so much more insight and understanding that life can have so much more purpose if used to help as many people as possible.
Congratulations, Lillian! And thank you for helping improve the lives of those in your community.
