Eddie Reeves Scholarship Recipient - Makenzie Swann
05/04/2022
Each year during our annual meeting, the Eddie Reeves Scholarship recipient of the year is announced. Also known as the Eddie Reeves Community Commitment Scholarship, the Eddie Reeves Scholarship, for short, is awarded to a student who is a model leader serving their community. We want to congratulate and introduce you to this year’s recipient, Makenzie Swann.
Makenzie is a senior at South Pointe High School, where she is a part of the student council and involved with various community service projects. From Wishes for Winter to Adopt-An-Angel to volunteering at the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen and more. For Makenzie, it is heart-warming to see how she, as a student, can impact the people of Rock Hill. Her motivation to keep achieving and wanting better for herself and her community has been her most significant influence in life. One of her favorite quotes epitomizes her motivation, “Fortune favors the brave.”
Makenzie will be attending The University of South Carolina, enrolled at the Darla Moore School of Business, where she will be majoring in international business with a focus in operations and supply chain management.
The Eddie Reeves Scholarship remembers Mr. Reeves, a credit union volunteer and board chairman who served Family Trust for over 30 years.
The scholarship is open to high school, college, and graduate students pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants will answer the following question in a brief essay: “How has giving your time to the community impacted you?”
Deadlines are on March 26 of every year. You can submit your scholarship application here.
